Dramatic Theatre Salutes Ingmar Bergman

Published fredag 17 april 2009 kl 14.22

The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm is getting ready for the launching of the first of what is to be a bi-annual festival salute to the spirit of the late world-famous Swedish film and theatre director Ingmar Bergman – who worked for years at the ornate building on the harbour waterfront.

The aim is to focus on Bergman the man and his works - and how he influenced others around the globe to use the spoken word and the screen image to reveal human emotions in conflict and comedy.

The Bergman festival begins at the end of next month – with prestigious guest performances from abroad, seminars, meeting with actors and directors, films and radio plays and the whole gold and marble Royal Dramatic Theater - known as Dramaten – opening its doors to the public from morning to night.
