Curious Reindeer Visits Students in Northern Sweden
News reports from northern Sweden indicate an exception to the usual reports of moose or European elk plunging into people’s back yard gardens and swimming pools, and glass verandas – and even appearing on the suburban subway tracks here in Stockholm - especially when tipsy in the autumn when gobbling too many of those fermenting, fallen apples in the orchards.
The latest report is from the coastal town of Sundsvall north of Stockholm.
But the visitor this time was not a heavy-horned was not a moose but a much smaller and more delicate reindeer - coming right into town to mingle unabashed with the university students on campus for an hour before returning to the herd in the nearby forest.
A four-footed animal no doubt more academically-minded that those alcohol- loving moose.
