Pirate Bay Makes World Media

Published fredag 24 april 2009 kl 14.35

The possible conflict of interest in the Pirate Bay case has made world news. Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter has been keeping an eye on the development in the foreign media and they are reporting a massive interest.

The BBC and the Wall Street Journal report on the discussion, as does Die Welt and South China Morning Post.  The number of articles on the Pirate Bay shot through the roof on Thursday, according to DN.

The Swedish lawyers are quoted in many places, as is the judge Tomas Norströms own defence. But, according to DN, even the Pirate Bay’s spokesman Peter Sundes’s twitter comments have been quoted by the British newspaper the Independent.

That the trial was – and is – a matter of interest globally is shown not in the least in the comments section on the media websites, where the Swedish legal system is taking some hard hits. (rm)
