Swedish Mexico Tourists Tested for Swine Flu - No Symptoms Detected So Far
Specialists of the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control have begun testing travelers returning from Mexico for possible symtoms of Swine Flu. A spokesperson said that so far no symtoms of the disease were detected. Testing would continue.
As first cases of the disease were being reported from different European countries, the World Health Organization’s emergency committee convened in Geneva to discuss preventive measures. Its pandemic alertness was raised since it became obvious that the disease cannot be limited to Mexico. EU Commission President José Manuel Barroso said European authorities were monitoring the situation and would remain vigilant.
