Opinion Poll:

Social Democrats Lose Ground

Published lördag 6 juni 2009 kl 12.21

The final opinion survey before the polls close on Sunday evening (21:00) shows some surprising changes – but with uncertainty about the turnout still being high, nothing is set yet. TV4’s and Novus Opinion’s joint poll sees the support for the Social Democrats drop by almost 4 percentage points, giving them around 26 percent.

Sweden’s largest governing party, the conservative Moderates also see a slight decline – ending up at a total of 19 percent of the electorate’s support. Big winners are – once again – the pro-file sharing Pirate Party who now range at 8.5 percent. Pollsters point out though that the party’s success will mostly depend on how many of their young voters will actually go to the polls.

Another surprise is the EU-critic June List. The survey sees them gaining ground in the last days before election, jumping up to almost 4 percent.
