military helicopters

Ten Years Delay

Published måndag 13 juli 2009 kl 15.16

Could Sweden soon be without vital military helicopters? Its old fleet is over 40 years old and is destined for the scrapheap, but new choppers due to be delivered as of this year may not now be fully operational until 2020.

And whereas the Finnish military has already both demanded and got compensation from the helicopter manufacturers NHI, as well as receiving the first delivery, Sweden is still waiting. Something which has led to criticism from the Swedish Defence Minister and MPs.
