Spotify to Stream to Mobile Phones

Swedish streaming music service Spotify announced that it will release an application for Apple’s Iphone within a few weeks, according to Swedish news service TT.

Spotify has only been available on computers thus far, but with the application they will soon begin streaming music to mobile phones as well.

Apple must approve the application before it is released to Iphone users, but Spotify founder Daniel Ek is confident that there won't be any snags in the process. "We get along well with the guys at Apple," he said on Monday.

Spotify is available in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Great Britain, France, and Spain; the same countries will be able to use the Iphone application.

But Spotify has no plans to stop with Apple. The company will continue to develop applications for other mobile phones, including Google's Android system.

While computer users can use Spotify free if they listen to a few advertisements in between songs, the company says that mobile phone users will pay a fee to access its music catalogue.
