Girl Caught in Fire Has Died

Published tisdag 28 juli 2009 kl 15.47

The thirteen-year-old girl who survived a fire in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby in the past weekend, has now died in hospital. The girl was found next to a woman and her five daughters, who had all died from smoke inhalation in the stairwell in the block of flats where they lived. They had been trying to get out of the building.

The thirteen-year-old was brought unconscious to the Karolinska University hospital in Stockholm, but at one o'clock on Tuesday, she passed away.

Meanwhile the forensic work continues to try to establish what caused the fire. Police say that they hope to have a result later this week.
