Pirate Bay Site Back Online
The Swedish file-sharing site The Pirate Bay is up and running again with a new internet provider. The controversial site was shut down on Monday after its bandwidth supplier Black Internet had been threatened with a hefty fine.
On Friday Black Internet was ordered by Stockholm District court to stop supplying bandwidth to The Pirate Bay or face paying a 500 000 kronor fine (70,000 dollars. The court issued the order because a court case involving the founders of The Pirate Bay and the US Film and record industry is still ongoing.
Soon after the shutdown, Black Internet was subject to an attack which took out their services during the larger part of Tuesday. It is not yet known whether there is a connection between the sabotage and the closure of The Pirate Bay.
