Reinfeldt Rallies Party Conference
The conservative Moderate party should become "the natural party of government for all Swedes", Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt told party workers at a conference in Västerås Thursday.
Calling for further reforms within the party, Reinfeldt said the Moderates should look to, and represent all Swedes.
"The 'leading' country Sweden sticks together and takes responsibility in a difficult time", he said, "We value employment, develop the welfare state, take the lead in meeting the challenge of climate change, have a obvious roll in Europe and the world, in all of this lies the task for the Moderates. It's time for the Moderates to offer Swedish voters the prospect of long term government leadership."
The conservative Moderates are currently in government as part of a four party centre-right coalition, with the next general election due in a year's time.
