New EU Summit Called

Published fredag 4 september 2009 kl 12.34

Sweden, current president of the EU, has called an extra summit to be held on the 17th September for EU leaders to prepare a common position ahead of the next G20 meeting later this month.

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt says the summit is important for discussions on the aftermath of the recession and the unwelcome return of the bonus system to the banking world.

Sweden will attend the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh as representative of the EU.
