More Young People Starting Companies

Published måndag 7 september 2009 kl 11.16

New statistics in these days of economic recession show a 40% increase in the number of young people under the age of 25 in Sweden starting their own businesses.

Some 7,000 applications have been made in the first half of this year by young people for the special tax category for private companies.

With the much higher-than-average unemployment rate for young people in this Nordic nation, observers say some of the younger people conclude that their only alternative is to start their own enterprise.
