Sweden Waiting to Welcome Space Hero

A Swede in space - Christer Fuglesang

After the successful completion of the latest space mission of the shuttle “Discovery” Sweden is preparing to welcome its astronaut Christer Fuglesang back home. The country’s only space traveler has won praise for his commitment in his two shuttle missions, which included several extra-vehicular activities, so-called space walks.

Fuglesang’s return to his native Stockholm is not imminent yet, as he has to take part in the evaluation of the latest flight by scientists of both the American and the European space agencies, NASA and ESA, at the Houston Space Center.
