Skype Founder Wins Big Prize

Niklas Zennström, the Swedish founder of the popular internet telephone company Skype, has received the Royal Institute of Technology’s Grand Prize. The Stockholm university cited his “unique entrepreneurship and technical expertise” in its announcement.

The Swede—who can also count internet video site Joost and file-sharing client Kazaa among his accomplishments—will receive 140,000 USD in prize money.
