Spotify Expands Into Mobile Market

Spotify is heating up the mobile music market with contracts on the home front and possible breakthroughs abroad. News bureau TT reports a new collaboration between Swedish mobile provider Telia, while Spotify founder Daniel Ek is travelling to the United States and China to secure new markets for the Swedish streaming music service.

The contract between Spotify and Telia will offer its customers unlimited amounts of Spotify music on their computer and their mobile phone. The agreement comes on the heels of Spotify’s recent entry into the Iphone market with a streaming music application.

Daniel Ek, though, won't promise a profitable year for Spotify. “Our focus right now is growth, not necessarily profitability,” he told TT.
