Ferry Rammed Gangway in Karlskrona
A Swedish passenger ferry, the Stena Baltica, crashed into the gangway while berthing at the ferry terminal in Karlskrona, in the South of Sweden on Wednesday morning. The collision caused the gangway to fall down on a tank lorry parked on the quay, which began to leak oil.
The ferry’s 170 passengers were made to leave the ferry via the car decks and rescue services arrived at the scene son after to clear the oil leakage. No oil is reported to have leaked into the sea and no passengers were injured during the collision.
According to Swedish News Agency TT, the accident may have been cause by the weather conditions, which had already delayed the arrival of the ferry to Karlskrona by 2 hours.
