Works for child protection - Queen Silvia

Queen Silvia is hoping for a closer cooperation between Sweden and the United States in the fight against trafficking and drug dealing. After a meeting with American First Lady Michelle Obama in Washington the queen told Swedish radio that it was important to enforce methods to prevent these crimes. Queen Silvia informed both Mrs. Obama and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about crime-preventing efforts of the European Union.

She also spoke about the activities of the World Childhood Foundation that is focusing on the protection of minors from sexual exploitation. The organization was founded by the Swedish queen ten years ago.
