Sweden Eclipsed by Norway
It may only have almost half Sweden's population but new figures show that Norway can almost match its Nordic neighbour's GDP.
Sweden's gross domestic product is only six percent bigger than that of Norway which could could surpass Sweden later this year.
Öystein Dörum , the chief economist at Norway's biggest bank DNB told SVT television news that it would be a minor sensation if his country managed to earn more than Sweden.
"They are almost twice as many as us," Dörum said. "The Norrman is much more effective than the Swede."
