Suspected Armed Robber Shot by Store Worker

Published söndag 17 januari 2010 kl 16.33

A tobacco store worker is facing charges of attempted murder after firing at two suspected armed robbers in north west Stockholm on Saturday.

One of the suspected robbers is in a serious but stable condition in hospital with gunshot wounds to the stomach. Police are still after the second suspect according to TT news.

Police say the injured man was armed with a knife. Police say the man working in the shop in Vällingby drew a gun when the robbers were on the way out of the store and injured himself in the shooting. He was operated on at Karolinska hospital for injuries to his arm. The suspected armed robber is being treated at the same hospital.

It's unclear whether the second robber who escaped on foot was also injured.
