Swedes' Haiti Donations Break Records

Published tisdag 19 januari 2010 kl 11.55

Swedes are donating money to charity faster than ever before, following the devastating earthquake in Haiti last week.

Speaking to Swedish Radio News, Ann-Charlotte Johansson from the Swedish Red Cross says donations have come in at record speed.

It's estimated that Swedes have donated at least 8 million US dollars in the 5 days since the disaster. Much of that cash has been donated by mobile phone text message, according to SR.
