Negotiations over Saab Continues

Published tisdag 19 januari 2010 kl 21.44

Spyker Cars is still in intense negotiations with American car giant GM over Saab, news agency TT reports. And Reuters quote a spokesperson for the Bernie Ecclestone backed Genii capital saying that it remained hopeful about its chances of buying the Swedish carmaker. Much more than that is coming out of the current negotiations, the only thing that everybody involved seem prepared to agree on, is that the time is slowly running out.

Meanwhile Swedish Radio reports of a visit from Bejing Auto in Trollhättan. The Chinese car manufacturer has bought the tools for making older Saab models and negotiations are taking place as to exactly which help Bejing Auto is going to get from Saabs engineers, as part of the deal. Trade union representatives in Trollhättan hope that as many as 200 engineers will have continued work in some form for the Chinese company.
