Opposition in the Lead
The three red-green opposition parties would gain a majority in parliament if general elections were held today. According to the latest opinion poll which was carried out by research institute Sifo, Social Democrats, the Greens and the Left Party would receive 51.8 percent of the votes.
The incumbent center-right four-party alliance would merely reach 41.5 percent. Once again, an opinion poll sees the xenophobic Sweden Democrats above the four-percent-threshold. According to the Sifo survey, the party would get five percent of the Swedish vote.
