Trading in Spyker Shares Suspended
Share trading in Spyker Cars was suspended by the Dutch financial regulator on Tuesday prompting renewed speculation that Spyker was set to announce a deal to buy Swedish car company Saab off owners General Motors.
The regulator said that trading was suspended "pending a press statement" by Spyker.
Meanwhile earlier on Tuesday, Flemmish politicians in the Belgium parliament were said to be lobbying for Spyker to move production from Sweden to Antwerp if they succeeded in their latest attempt to buy Saab autos.
The Belgium newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad reports that Flemmish politicians would like Spyker to switch production to GM's current Opel factory in Belgium which is to be shutdown in the same cost cutting measures which have seen the American car giant offload Saab.
