Doctors Lack Swedish Skills
The Association of Local Authorities and Regions has warned the government of the increasing problem of foreign doctors who lack Swedish skills. News agency TT reports that the Association now intends to map out the extent of the problem in Sweden.
Doctors from non-EU-countries need to pass a certain language test if they want to work in Sweden, whereas those from EU-countries do not have to take such a test. In their case, it is up the employer to make sure that their staff has the Swedish skills which are necessary.
