Winter Troubles Continue in Sweden

Published torsdag 28 januari 2010 kl 09.21

Severe winter weather continues to cause problems with traffic in Sweden.

Accidents with injuries have been reported all over the country, roads blocked sometimes for hours because of vehicles colliding or skidding into ditches, buses delayed or cancelled and long delays in long-distant and commuter train travel.

Among the more unusual accidents – a train hitting a man clearing snow from the tracks in Stockholm --  resulting in minor injuries --  and a garage roof collapsing  under the weight of heavy snow in the southern town of Linköping – with no one hurt but 20 cars were damaged.
