AstraZeneca Slashes Jobs
The Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced Thursday it is cutting 8000 more jobs over the next three years.
This comes despite an increase in net profits by almost a quarter during 2009, to more than 7.5 billion dollars. Revenues were aided by sales of swine flu vaccine.
Continuing its cost-cutting program, AstraZeneca says it hopes to deliver annual savings of 1.9 billion dollars over the next four years.
