'Higher Congestion Charges Necessary'

Published fredag 29 januari 2010 kl 13.48

Stockholm will have to increase its system of congestion charges if it wants to live up to its own environmental ambitions, a new study shows. The study which was carried out by the Office of Regional Planning at the Stockholm County Council suggests that congestion charges be raised significantly in order to limit the amount of cars in the city. But experts say that more measures will be necessary to ensure noticeable reductions of carbon dioxide emissions in the Swedish capital.
