Snow and Cold Cause Train Delays
The country's trains were back on track and moving by Saturday morning. But the heavy snowfalls on Friday and the cold weather that caused rail switches to freeze continued to cause delays on the Swedish railways on Saturday.
On Friday evening a train broke down just south of Stockholm, forcing large parts of the railservice in the Stockholm area to a stand still. A frozen rail switch completely stopped the trains between Stockholm and Gothenburg for several hours on Friday night.
