Sweden is to send more troops to Afghanistan to reinforce its platoon in the north of the country.
Thirty troops from K3 regiment in Karlsborg will fly off next week. The soldiers were taken out of a so called strategic reserve.
"It's an extraordinary occurrence when two officers in a Swedish platoon are been killed. That's why we have taken this decision, " said defence chief Anders Lindström to Dagens Nyheter.
Last Sunday two Swedish officers and their local interpreter were killed by a man dressed in an afghan police uniform.
The bodies of Gunnar Andersson and Johan Palmlöv will be flown home sometime on Wednesday. Colleagues from their platoon will fly back to Sweden next week.
