Financial Crisis Investigation Planned
The Swedish government plans to install a new commission to investigate the global financial crisis, news agency TT reports. Set to be in place by spring this year, the group will evaluate how the crisis was handled by the government—and how Sweden can prepare for future financial upheavals.
The members of the commission have not been named yet, but there are plans to include people with judicial and economic competence.
The Swedish Central Bank had previously encouraged the government to start such a commission so that “the costs of [another] crisis will be as little as possible for the bank’s customers and for society as a whole.”
