Killing Cancer with Breast Milk Protein

Published fredag 12 mars 2010 kl 13.20
Not just food

Swedish researchers have discovered that a substance in ordinary breast milk can kill cancer cells.

The substance has been dubbed Hamlet, and it’s a protein in breast milk. Researchers at the University of Lund in southern Sweden in the 1990’s found that Hamlet killed cancer cells, but unlike chemotherapy, it leaves healthy tissue untouched.

Now the researchers in Lund have treated human patients suffering from cancer in the urinary bladder with Hamlet.
