"New" da Vinci Painting Shown in Gothenburg
Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci's recently discovered painting La Bella Principessa will for the first time be shown publicly - at an exhibition that opens in Gothenburg this weekend.
The painting was sold for 19,000 US dollars in 1998 and then again for a similar price in 2007, before a smudged fingerprint convinced art experts that it actually was made by da Vinci. It is now valued to over 200 million dollars.
It will be shown at Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg together with other original paintings of da Vinci and his contemporaries Michelangelo och Rafael.
