Law Proposal Aims at School Reform
The center-right government has officially handed over its draft for a school reform law to the parliament. Permanent employment for professional teachers, a restructuring of all the stages of education – ranging from pre-school to high school – as well as more freedom for universities in the recruitment of personnel are the main parts of the draft proposal.
Minister for Education Tobias Krantz pointed out that the proposal is aimed at increasing knowledge and discipline in Sweden’s education system. But the Council of Legislation – a body that examines the legal validity of law proposals – criticized the reform plan for containing a considerable amount of flaws, writes the news agency TT.
