Major Poll Shows Red Greens Ahead
Sweden's Red Green opposition parties are slated to win the country's national election come autumn, according to a new poll released by Statistics Sweden. According to the bureau, 50.2 percent of Swedes support the Red Green opposition, whereas just 44.2 percent support the sitting center-right government, a coalition led by the conservative Moderates. The poll, which was conducted last month, contradicts the results of recent polls that showed the incumbent government to have the lead.
Ever since Statistics Sweden began running this kind of poll in 1973, it has correctly predicted the winner of the election the following autumn.
