Reinfeldt Warns of European Cutbacks

Government spending reductions in the rest of Europe could have a knock-on effect on the Swedish economy, according to Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. Speaking after the meeting of EU government leaders in Brussels, he warned that the economic problems facing many of Sweden's trading partners in Europe could slow down the recovery here, according to news agency TT.

"Either things will get better in Europe, or Sweden will be hit to a very large degree. If there are large government spending cut backs that will lead to reduced demand for many of the countries we trade with", he said.
