The newly appointed judge in a trial involving several men who are accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old mentally disabled girl, received a threatening phone call on Friday, newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports.

The trial started in September then judge Björn Hansson, had to have police escort to the courtroom and Monica Nebelius, who replaced Hansson, resigned after she had been threatened on her way home from work.

An 18-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested on Monday accused of threatening court officials and witnesses. Both the man and woman are connected to the 18-year-old man who is described as the main person behind the abuse.

Prosecutor Ulrika Rogland and a police investigator have also been threatened and a 17-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly threatening a witness.
