Sweden boycotts OECD conference
Sweden will not attend the tourism conference in Jerusalem, Israel, held by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development which starts on Oct. 20, news agency TT reports.
The reason nobody will represent Sweden at the conference is that it has been too politicised according to Cecilia Juhlin, a spokeswoman for the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The decision was made after Israel’s Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov concluded that the OECD, had recognized Jerusalem as Israel's "undivided capital" by holding the conference in the city.
Sweden doesn't not recognise Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, and has its embassy in Tel Aviv.
