A 23-year-old Swedish man suspected of a series of rapes in the city of Örebro, west of Stockholm, confessed before a judge Friday morning to one of the rapes. The rape occurred at a gas station in the spring and resulted in an aggravated rape charge. The suspect was recently detained on suspicion of three other crimes, two rapes and an assault, but he denied those charges.

Police said they had technical evidence that tied the man to several rape cases. The man is also suspected of several other rapes and attempted rapes in the area during the past few years, Swedish Radio News reports. The suspect has not been convicted of any crimes earlier.
