Snow storm expected to cause problems

Published tisdag 19 oktober 2010 kl 20.12
A frozen Stockholm commuter train. Last year the large amounts of snow caused serious problems in many parts of Sweden.

Meteorologists warn a developing storm could bring heavy snow and cause slow road travel across large parts of Sweden in the coming days.

It seems the snow is coming earlier than usual and the  weather service is predicting up to 5 centimetres of snow could fall as far south as Småland province.

The government’s weather agency SMHI has issued a class 1 warning for several regions of Sweden on Wednesday. They are now warning Swedes to be careful as treacherously icy roads might cause traffic problems, newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reports.
