round 1.8 million Swedes have high blood pressure

A new reports says that patients should measure their blood pressure themselves, at home.

The Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU) says that 300,000 Swedes have bought a blood pressure measure, and that the health care service should exploit this, since the results are more reliable.

Fredrick Nyström at the Linköping university hospital says to Swedish radio news that, as long as the device is accurate, it is useful to use measurements to guide treatment.
