More for media than clothing
The average Swedish family spends more than US$ 2000 a year on television, the Internet and other media.
According to a new study from the Institute for Advertising and Media Statistics, the most is spent by high income families with many teenagers.
Food, housing costs, and transport are still the most expensive parts of the family budget. But the amount spent on media now exceeds clothing purchases, the study found.
The largest media expense is for television, which costs an average of around US$ 400 a year, followed by the Internet and mobile telephone services.
