Demand for Swedish products on the up

Published tisdag 26 oktober 2010 kl 10.27
Soon Geely workers and robots will be turning out Volvo cars as well

After taking a beating during the financial crisis, Sweden's factories and offices are again selling goods and services to the world - significantly more than Sweden buys in from other countries.

A report by Swedish radio news says that Sweden's trade surplus is bigger, proportionally, than China's, on 6.6 per cent, compared to China's 4.9 per cent.

But cooperation with China is one of the reasons that the situation for Swedish business has improved.

Chinese car maker Geely, which bought Volvo cars, has just announced that their Chinese-based Volvo factory will be in the central city of Chengdu, reports news agency TT, citing the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
