Want to come to Sweden but don't want to queue at an embassy all day? Sweden's Migration Board is introducing web-based residence permit applications. First in line to use the new service will be students living in countries with no visa requirement to visit Sweden, and Chinese citizens.

The Migration Board hopes that the new service will make applying for a resident permit easier, quicker and less bureaucratic, writes news agency TT.

If the first wave works, they will then roll out the opportunity to other countries.
