Swedish industries operating without EU environmental permit
Sweden is being brought before the European Union court, as some 26 of the nation's companies have been operating without the environmental permit required by EU law.
The permits should have been issued four years ago, reports news agency TT. The EU commission warned Sweden in March that 50 of its industries still didn't have the required permit.
Since then, about half of them have ordered the permit, but the commission judged that the others will not be ready to receive their permits for another year. Depending on the court's decision, Sweden may either get more time to comply or face an injunction.
