Sweden Demands Action from Israel

Published lördag 30 oktober 2010 kl 17.36
Carl Bildt

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt says Israel must make a concrete contribution to the stalled Middle East peace talks and stop the expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories.

He states that these settlements are a violation of international law and that Israel should be aware of Swedish and European Union support for the Palestinians if they demand United Nations approval of a Palestinian state.

The Swedish foreign minister concludes that the most important thing is to get the Middle East peace talks going again and to define the borders between Israel and Palestine.
