Newspaper threat behind terror alert

Protest against the Mohammed cartoon in Malaysia

Swedish Television News reports that Sweden went to an enhanced terrorist alert level in September primarily because of a threat against the newspaper Nerikes Allehanda in Örebro.

At the time the threat level was raised from two to three on a five level scale, the highest ever here.

Nerikes Allehanda has received threats since the newspaper published the controversial cartoons by the artist Lars Vilks of the prophet Mohammed in 2007
