In the World Handball Championships, underway here in Sweden, the home team is moving on to the second round, following a close 24 to 21 victory over Poland Thursday.

There had been concerns after Argentina’s upset victory over the Swedes earlier in the first round. Sweden faces Serbia on Saturday, and then Croatia and top-scoring Denmark.

The Swedes have to finish in the top seven in the championships to qualify for the London Olympics.
