The opposition Green Party is calling for the end of restrictions on the unification of refugee families - maintaining that this is splitting families trying to reunite in Sweden.

The present restrictions demand that a refugee has to prove that he can financially take care of close family members before they are allowed to come to Sweden.

Critics argue that some refugees fleeing from persecution, torture and war zones at home are not always able to jump quickly into the Swedish labor market even if there are suitable jobs available – which is not always the case.
