IKEA turn to green wind power
DIY furniture chain IKEA is to invest in a wind power plant in central Sweden, as part of its attempts to reduce its carbon footprint. The wind turbines, in Dalarna, should produce enough electricity to power the company's seventeen stores in Sweden.
The site of the proposed plant has proven controversial though, part of it lies in an area that has been suggested as a new nature reserve, reports news agency TT.
The investment is expected to cost around US$ 60 million.
