Foreign Ministry advises against trips to Libya

Published måndag 21 februari 2011 kl 10.13

As a result of the violence over the weekend, the Swedish Foreign Ministry has changed its travel advice and is now recommending Swedes to avoid travelling to Libya. Swedes currently in the country are encouraged to leave, unless they have "urgent reasons for staying".

The telecom company Ericsson will on Tuesday arrange a flight from Tripoli to take members of its staff out of the country. Swedes who are interested in boarding that plane are welcome to do so if they are prepared to pay for the flight and as long as there are spaces still available, according to the Foreign Ministry's website.
